MSORD and time varying transients

Postby violetblue » Tue Jun 23, 2020 2:57 am

Just a quick one (I hope)...

My MSORD model has 2-ageclass survival (transients and residents); time-varying transient survival and constant resident survival.

I've found the final season parameter of transient survival is always particularly low, though when I add an additional season of data that season's estimate is more what I'd expect, but the new final season estimate is very low.

I'm assuming this must be something to do with not enough enough data beyond the final season to reliable estimate survival of transients, but I would appreciate if you have better insight about this.

Regards

I finally got something with reasonable transient survival in the final time period by making all Psi 2to1 constant. I'd appreciate if anyone had any thoughts?
