"Gentle introduction" sample data - island.inp

Postby brouwern » Tue Dec 14, 2010 11:45 pm

I'm working through chapter 8 - multi-state models - of "A gentle introduction." I can't seem to locate the file island.inp on my computer or the web. deer.inp was also not in my mark directory, though I found it here
http://www.auburn.edu/~grandjb/wildpop/schedule.htm

Does anyone know where I can find this file?

This is a FAQ - specifically, item (7c):

7(c). The MARK 'book' makes reference to various example input files - many of which aren't distributed with MARK - where can I get them? - On the webpage for the MARK book, the last item of the drop-down menu where you select chapters (left-hand side of the page) is a link to the example files. If you can't find the files there, check the /mark/examples subdirectory that is created when you install MARK.

In addition, the location of the example data files is explicitly noted on the page where you downloaded the book - here, and is also noted on p. (ii) of the forward.

This particular question is addressed in at least the 4 placed I've mentioned. For next time, read the FAQ, and/or try searching (generally, answers to FAQ are relatively easily found via a simple search -- either of the forum, or the PDF of the entire book) first, before posting your question.
