Registration for EURING 2007 has two components: (1) the registration itself (which includes specifying housing options), and (2) payment.
registration
Registration for EURING 2007 has been capped to ~120 participants. Registrations will be accepted in order of submission of complete registration forms. You will get an e-mail notification as soon as we were able to debit your payment from your credit card account, or when your cheque has been received and deposited. This should normally take not longer than 5 working days after arrival of your registration materials.
The basic cost for registering for EURING 2007 is NZ $780 (plus approximately NZ $40 to $120, depending on choice, if you wish to participate in one of the field trips - payment for field trips will be made at the conference itself). The registration fee covers morning and afternoon teas, lunches, conference dinner, welcome cocktail evening, software sessions and short courses, and venue hire. Accommodation (bed and breakfast) and dinners are not included, and need to be arranged by each conference participant individually (see below).
To complete registration and payment for EURING 2007, simply fill out and submit the respective forms. Both completion of the forms, and submission, can be done online, or the completed forms faxed or posted (by airmail) to the conference secretary. Please note that submission (and acceptance) of an abstract to any of the sessions does not guarantee a place at the conference.
Note that the deadline for registration and payment is 10th November, 2006. Registrations may be accepted after this date, but a late fee of NZ $50 will be charged.
Cancellations before 11th November will be refunded in full, less NZ $35 to cover fixed costs. Cancellations after this date will be refunded as fully as possible, at the discretion of the organising committee. Any refunds will be made as the equivalent of the NZ dollar amount. Cancellations must be notified to the conference secretary (address details on the registration form).
housing
Some accommodation for participants at EURING 2007 has been reserved at the conference venue, Salmond Hall, and should be booked using the registration form. Please note that Salmond Hall has only single rooms available. The cost is NZ $45 per night for bed and continental breakfast.
If you do not wish to stay at Salmond Hall, you should make your own accommodation arrangements. Salmond Hall is situated at 19 Knox Street, off Opoho Road, near the Botanic Gardens, and there are several hotels and motels situated relatively close to the conference site:
Additional options can be found on the NZ Automobile Association website (use Dunedin in the city/town search field), or here.
- Mercure Hotel (a five minute walk through the botanic gardens) website
- Commodore Motels: (about the same distance and direction) website
- Cable Court Motel (same direction, but a block further away) website
- Garden Motel (on George Street, a ten minute walk) website
- There are also a number of motels on or near George Street which are closer to the shopping area, but further away from the conference venue.
Hotel and Motel accommodation should be booked early, as January is the summer holiday period in New Zealand. For many establishments, check in is after 2pm on the day of arrival, and you must vacate the accommodation by 10am on the day of departure, or extra charges may be incurred. This should be checked when making a booking.
Housing options are specified on the registration form.
Reminder - final deadline for registration and payment is November 10, 2006
