Welcome to Ithaca (in advance...). The following will provide some basic information concerning your travel to Ithaca, and attendance at AMCS 2012.
hotel acomodations
A block of 25 single rooms has ben reserved for AMCS antendees at the Ithaca Holiday Inn Downtown. The hotel is in central (downtown) Ithaca, and is within short walking distance of a number of restaurants (and places that serve alcohol of various forms...). When booking your room (recommended you do it by phone), please note the conference registration code 'AMCS' or 'Adaptive Management Conference Series' (either should work).
Note, we have negotiated the rooms at the current government rate.
meeting site
The formal 'presentation' sessions will be held on the Cornell campus, at the ILR Conference Center. Shuttle service will transport attendees from the hotel to the conference center. For people using their own vehicles, the location of the conference center can be found here.
travel to Ithaca
Ithaca is located in upstate NY, rather removed from most places you can easily find on a map. It has a regional airport (for folks flying in), that offers connections to major airlines in Detroit, and Philadelphia. Alternatively, you can fly into Syracuse (about an hour north of Ithaca), which is a larger airport with a greater variety of carriers.
