A four-year postdoctoral position (with 25% teaching) in avian species distribution, phenology and abundance modelling is available at Department of Biosciences, University of Oslo.

The candidate will analyze long-term data from citizen science databases and bird observatories in Scandinavia, with the aim of understanding the causes of changes in bird population abundance, phenology and distributions. The candidate is also expected to take part in developing a passive acoustic monitoring system for birds, in collaboration with colleagues at the Department of Technology Systems, University of Oslo.

We seek candidates with a keen interest in bird populations and a strong background in statistical modelling. We may offer a joint affiliation with the Department of Mathematics, University of Oslo. Until summer 2024, the candidate will be based at Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Ithaca, NY, together with the project PI.
