The Canadian Wildlife Service (CWS) frequently needs skilled analysts to conduct short-term, contract-based, analyses of avian monitoring data. These short-term contracts have relatively small budgets (<22,000$ CDN per project) and hence are not advertised through our standard competitive bidding process.
We most often require contractors with expertise modeling animal abundance in space and time, particularly in a hierarchical Bayesian framework, similar to that currently used for BBS. In addition, expertise in occupancy and/or demographic models is often relevant.
