Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be responsible for developing a research program focused on evaluating 1) environmental and anthropocentric factors regulating largemouth bass populations in Iowa or 2) factors influencing survival and stocking success of Iowa’s “super” advanced fingerling walleye. Both projects will involve a variety of mark-recapture, telemetry, population dynamics, and food web components.
Qualifications: M.S. degree in fisheries ecology and management, ecology, zoology, biology, environmental science, or related field. Coursework and fieldwork experience in fisheries, aquatic ecology, or population assessment is highly desirable. Candidates with demonstrated written and oral communication, analytical skills, and strong academic credentials are preferred. Applicant must be highly motivated, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and be physically capable and willing to work long hours in demanding outdoor conditions. Salary/Benefits: ~$24,000/year, benefits and full tuition waiver
