A post-doctoral research associate is available in the Wildlife Biology Program at the University of Montana. The Research Associate will investigate wildlife population monitoring designs and population modeling for a species of conservation concern using data from multiple data of sources across a multi-state region. The RA will work independently and collaboratively on development of sampling designs and population models. The RA will network with agencies providing data to ensure reliable information transfer. Knowledge of sampling theory, population modeling and experience with statistical software such as R or JAGS are preferred. Research results are expected to be published in the scientific literature and presented at professional conferences or agency meetings. The research associate will be working with Dr. Paul M. Lukacs (paul.lukacs@umontana.edu) and his students and collaborators.
