Workshop: Using Tagging Data for Fisheries Stock Assessment

Postby markmaunder » Mon Aug 13, 2007 4:21 pm

The Workshop on Using Tagging Data for Fisheries Stock Assessment and Management will be held from October 16 to 19. It will focus on quantitative methods to analyze tagging data and the design of tagging experiments. The topics will cover the analysis of both conventional tags and the new data rich archival tags. The special focus on designing tagging experiments will provide a basis for developing the proposed tagging studies in the Pacific Ocean.

The topics covered will include:

integrating tagging data into population dynamics models;
analyzing auxiliary information;
diffusion advection models;
analyzing archival tagging data;
wildlife mark-recapture methods;
estimation of growth;
incorporating tagging behavioral data in assessments;
diagnostics of tagging models;
designing tagging experiments.
