COURSE DESCRIPTION: Learn the basic concepts of statistical programming in R. Examples used in learning are tailored to the needs of students, researchers, and professionals in wildlife- and ecology-related disciplines.

-Tests for normality and equal variance
-Comparing means
-Simple linear regression and ANOVA
-Multiple linear regression
-Model selection

FORMAT: During the first week, learn at your own pace by watching prerecorded lectures and working on problem sets. Instructor support and feedback will be provided 8:00-12:00 & 13:00-17:00 PM EDT each day in Discussion forums, by email, or during scheduled appointments. During the second week, students will receive additional course-related support via Discussion forums and email and have the opportunity to work with an instructor on their personal project.
DATES: March 8-12, 2021 (+1 additional week to ask follow-up questions and work with an instructor on a personal project)
PREREQUISITES: Basic statistics and introductory R training (e.g., Data Science in R: https://www.centerforwildlifestudies.org/courses/r-intro-online-2021).
CREDIT: 21 CEUs in Category I of the Certified Wildlife Biologist Renewal program and Category I of the Professional Development Certificate program. Credit can also be used to earn an Associate or Certified Wildlife Biologist certification through The Wildlife Society.
