ISEC 2016 registration is open!

You are now invited to register for the fifth biennial International Statistical Ecology Conference (ISEC2016), to be held 28 June - 1 July 2016 at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA.

We invite you to register early and take advantage of discounted admission rates. These discounted early Student and Standard registration rates only apply until 30 March 2016. We have limited enrollments for workshops and excursions. Early registration helps ensure a spot in your first choice of activities!

As a reminder, the abstract submission deadline for ISEC 2016 is 10 January 2016. Possible topics for contributed talk and poster sessions include (but are not limited to) abundance estimation, animal movement, big data, biodiversity, capture-recapture, citizen science, community dynamics, disease ecology, distance sampling, epidemiology, evolutionary ecology, fisheries, individual-based models, integrated population models, metapopulation dynamics, multispecies models, occupancy models, population dynamics, spatial ecology, species distribution models, and survey design.

We have a great group of plenary speakers:

Jim Nichols (USA)
Byron Morgan (UK)
Marie-Josée Fortin (Canada)
Ruth King (UK)
Bob O'Hara (Germany)
David Warton (Australia)

There will also be pre-conference workshops taking place 26-27 June:

- Spatially-explicit capture-recapture (David Borchers)
- Analysis of occupancy data using hidden Markov models and E-SURGE (Olivier Gimenez, Rémi Choquet, & Roger Pradel)
- Bayesian model selection and decision theory for ecologists (Mevin Hooten)
- Flexible programming with BUGS models: Using NIMBLE for MCMC and beyond (Perry de Valpine)
- Spatial statistical models for stream networks (Jay Ver Hoef & Erin Peterson)

Please place the dates of this conference into your calendars (28 June - 1 July 2016) and visit the conference website for updates.

Please note that workshops and excursions are an additional cost. Details about the agenda items are on the conference website, as well as invited speaker information and their presentation abstracts.
