f(x) and directional derivative returning NaN

Postby wisc88 » Sat Feb 24, 2018 2:58 pm

Hello everyone,

I have been experiencing something weird with E-SURGE lately. When running a model starting from three different random numbers, it converges on the first run, but on the second run the f(x) and the directional derivative start to show "NaN". Examples below (I hope the images show):

Sometimes it gets stuck on an iteration for hours (like first example), other times it just keeps going and returning NaN (like second example).

I haven't found anything about this in the manual. Any ideas of why this happens and how to deal with it?

Thank you.
