problem installing E-Surge

Postby markmiller » Thu Nov 19, 2015 12:57 pm

I am attempting to install E-Surge and keep getting the same error message.

I download MATLAB Runtime R2015b (9.0)* from here:

http://uk.mathworks.com/products/compiler/mcr/

and download E-Surge from here:

http://www.cefe.cnrs.fr/fr/ressources/f ... -logiciels

When I attempt to install E-Surge I receive the message:

'Setup has detected that this computer does not meet the requirements to install this software. The following blocking issues must be resolved before you can install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable Setup software package.

Please resolve the following:

A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine.'

I guess the message is telling me to install an old version of Visual C++. Is that correct? Do I need to have MATLAB to use E-Surge? Or is the apparently free MATLAB Runtime sufficient?

Thanks for any advice or assistance,

Mark

Today I unstalled 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable - 10.0.40219' and then tried to install E-Surge.

That eliminated the error message I reported last week. E-Surge installed 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable - 10.0.30319'.

Unfortunately, E-Surge then returned a different error message:

'Could not find version 8.0 of the MCR.
Attempting to load mclmcrr8_0.dll.
Please install the correct version of the MCR.
Contact your vendor if you do not have an installer for the MCR.'

Apparently mclmcrr8_0.dll is a MATLAB file. It does not exist on my machine. So, I guess it was not installed when I installed MATLAB Runtime R2015b (9.0)* from the link in my earlier post.

If I make progress installing that file I will post an update.

I uninstalled MATLAB Runtime R2015b (9.0)* and installed MATLAB Runtime R2012b (8.0) from here:

http://uk.mathworks.com/products/compiler/mcr/

Then E-Surge installed without error messages.

When I click on the E-Surge desktop icon the program requires approximately 20-30 seconds to launch, but it does launch and says 'E-SURGE V 1.9.11,23-Nov-2015' at the top.

##### Problem solved - my apologies for the inconvenience######

I am also attempting to install E-Surge (I am working on Windows10 - 64) and have been following the advices given in the previous post

1. I download MATLAB Runtime R2016a(M9)
2. I download E-Surge 2.1.4
both from here: http://www.cefe.cnrs.fr/fr/ressources/f ... -logiciels

When I attempt to launch E-Surge I receive the message:
"Could not find version 9.0 of the MCR.
Attempting to load mclmcrrt9_0_1.dll.
Please install the correct version of the MCR."
Contact your vendor if you do not have an installer for the MCR.'

Apparently mclmcrrt9_0_1.dll is a MATLAB file that does not exist on my machine.

So I uninstalled previous versions of 'Microsoft Visual C++ ... x64 Redistributable - ...' and then tried to install MATLAB and E-Surge again. I kept getting the same error message.

Do I need to install another MATLAB Runtime?

Thanks for any advice or assistance,
Laura
