shortcuts E-SURGE

Postby didine » Wed Apr 27, 2011 12:48 pm

Hello everybody, I am a french student of the university which the teacher is just go to vacancy and let me this adress 'in case of problem'.
Well, I have a problem with my shorcuts of age : I think they are not well defined because GEMACO want not give me the constraint matrix.
-The study is about a primat population during 8 years (T=36 periods)
-The data are presence/absence (1/0)
-I have for step of age : children, juvenil, subadult, adult (so group 1, 2...4)
I would want to see the influence of different rate of survival for every step of age in my model (classic).
So I did :
enf a(1:12).g(1)
juv a(13:23).g(1)&a(1:12).g(2)
sub a(24:32).g(1)&a(13:21).g(2)&a(1:8).g(3)
ad a(33:36).g(1)&a(22:25).g(2)&a(9:12).g(3)&a(1:4).g(4)
But I am not sure for 'sub' and 'ad' because I forget what mean exactly the 'a' :
Is it the firts time wee find the individual?
I think there are a lag in my shorcuts but I do not see where.
I find so little informations in my manual of E-SURGE about the shorcuts of age.

May someone can tell me if I am making a mistake? or explain to me (shortly) the shortcuts of age? or give me more informations about?

I am sorry for my bad english and I hope you will understand my problem.

I think that the main error is on the last shortcut:

ad a(33:36).g(1)&a(22:25).g(2)&a(9:12).g(3)&a(1:4).g(4)

It should be replaced by:

ad [a(33:36).g(1)&a(22:36).g(2)&a(9:36).g(3)&a(1:36).g(4)]

because individuals of g(4) remains adults for all ages (time elapsed since first capture).
I added also bracket to avoid problems of priority in the sentence, do the same for
all shortcuts.

Sincerely,

Rémi
