fx.total crash

Postby rasrage » Wed Nov 18, 2015 8:26 pm

Hi all,
I am trying to use the fx.total function in secr, but every time I do this, R crashes. Our data set has a large number of detectors, 530 to be precise. Could that be causing a problem in the computations? Any other ideas?
Thanks

Hmm. Number of detectors should not be a problem, except for speed and potentially total memory requirements. I would suggest you check by installing the provisional version of the next release (2.10.0) from the Density website, http://www.otago.ac.nz/density/SECRinR.html, and if there is still a problem please send me an example.

Rahel's example showed up a bug in the C code for fxi.secr (and hence fx.total) that appeared only with 'multi' detectors (traps) and varying trap 'usage'. I have uploaded a corrected version to the Density website, and will probably get it on CRAN next week. I hope this takes care of the problem.
