Dead Recoveries

Postby Juani » Wed Aug 04, 2010 1:53 pm

Hello
I'm working with sherman traps in a mountain environment and I found some animals dead on the trap, so after that last capture there is no probability to be recaptured. I would like to know if there is any way to specify this in the model on DENSITY or SECR?
Thank you

Yes - just code the occasion number as negative. Both Density and secr understand this to indicate death on capture, and truncate the capture history at that point. Review the data summary to convince yourself that this has worked (and let me know if it hasn't!).
