Delta method for density estimate

Postby Jalgeo » Fri Apr 10, 2015 7:31 am

Hey, I'm doing my honours project on estimating population densities using different methods. One of the methods I'm using is "traditional" capture-recapture, using MARK. I have the abundance estimate using Huggins p&c and my effective trapping area using full MDMM.

My next step is to get confidence intervals and standard errors, and to do this I was going to use the delta method. However I cannot find the values that are needed for the estimation - the derived output, which I expected the values to be in only gives the Nhat, SE and CI but not the values it used to obtain these.

Am I looking in the wrong place or am can I not do this?

Failing the delta method I was going to use the 95% CI for the abundance estimate and use that to give CI for the density estimate, however this seems to crude to be correct.

Many Thanks

James
