Pradel lambda & Pradel sen error

Postby Ana P » Wed Nov 23, 2016 5:17 am

I am working on Pradel lambda & Pradel models in paleontological data.
I have tested my code with the dipper data and it seems to work fine. However, when I start analyzing my data the Pradsen model runs perfectly but the Pradlambda gives me the following error:

MARK did not run properly. If error message was not shown, re-run MARK with invisible=FALSE

Model output is not available

Error in `colnames<-`(`*tmp*`, value = 1:20) :
attempt to set 'colnames' on an object with less than two dimensions

20 is the number of time intervals (I have 21 occasions). I have been reading through the forum and I found that sometimes it gives a similar error when Rmark and Mark have versions that are not compatible. I have updated both of them and it still doesn´t run.

I guess that my problem might be in the data format but I can´t figure out what is it since the Pradsen runs but the Pradlambda doesn´t.

Thank you very much,

Ana

Ana-

This should have been posted on the RMark sub-forum because you were using it. Look at the most recent .out file in your working directory with a text editor/viewer. The model may have simply not converged or it could be another error. Anytime the output from MARK is incomplete because it failed to converge or was given bad data or whatever, it will say that "MARK did not run properly and model output is not available" and then it will give any one of a multitude of R errors when it tries to extract the output from the marknnn.out file where nnn is some number. Apparently describing this in the Error Section of Appendix C and posting this solution before on phidot has not been enough, so the error will be more specific in the future. The next version of RMark will tell you to look in the .out file when the model passed to MARK failed to run.

After looking at the MARK output file, if you can't work out the problem, send the .out file to me (jefflaake@gmail.com) because it could be a problem with the model construction.
