new Linux version of MARK...now available (for testing)

The latest and greatest version of MARK (7.1) has been compiled for Linux users. Since most Linux types will use the Linux-compiled version with RMark, the details for installing Linux MARK (a.k.a. LinMARK) for use with RMark on a Linux machine are posted here:

http://www.phidot.org/software/mark/rmark/linux/

Please read the details carefully. The version of the MARK executable (64-bit only) was compiled to be as 'platform neutral' as possible, but that is not always easy to fully accomplish. In particular, if you're running a machine with a non-Intel chip, and have problems, (i) don't be surprised, and (ii) let us know.

Reminder that LinMARK is 'used by you, and supported by you'. If it works for you -- great, awesome, verging on totally rad. If it doesn't, then send a quick note with the details of your machine (distro, processor) -- if there is an obvious thing to try, based on that information, then fine. Otherwise...you're on your own.

Further, if you can't get it to play nice with RMark, then post a query in the RMark subforum (i.e., its all Jeff's fault ;-))
