PRESENCE 5.2 multi-season, 1st parameterization error

I just installed PRESENCE 5.2. When I try to run multi-season models using the 1st parameterization, I receive the following error message:
"PRESENCE encountered an error. Check input (.pao) or design matrix (.dm) files."
I have no problem using the 2nd parameterization (with the same dataset, so I don't think this is a data input issue). Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
