We are analyzing the two season leopard occupancy survey across the landscape in Nepal. We are using your Hines et al 2014 correlated survey models for estimating the occupancy of leopard. We got an issue regarding the use of covariates in the model. We have prey data which we think might be influencing the occupancy of leopard. Since initial model parameterization do not allow us to use the seasonal prey data as site level covariates influencing the occupancy. Will it make sense averaging prey index across the site and use single(averaged) value for each site for the modelling purpose.
