3-Station CJS analysis with no 101 capture hists follow-up

I have a situation very similar to the question outlined in this post: http://www.phidot.org/forum/viewtopic.php?

My follow-up question is, in a scenario where p=1 on the first occasion (for example, at an initial release event for a closed marked population), and where no 101 encounter histories subsequently occur, will estimated survival always approximately equal relative survival (the number of individuals released divided by the number of individuals captured at the 2nd occasion)?

Simulate, and answer this for yourself. But, the answer is there with only a bit of thought. If you can only have 111, or 110 histories (which sounds like what you're describing), then basic algebra will show you what you can and (more importantly) what you can't say.

Again, the simulation capabilities in MArK are very solid (and documented in Appendix A in the MARK book), and many of the questions that people ask on this forum can be answered by spending some quality time with the simulation tool.

We also have 100 encounter histories - but I will do as you suggest.
